In partnership with MGP Alice Springs, we hire out birth pools to help women enjoy the wonders of a waterbirth in their own home.
The Birth Pool is specifically designed for the purpose of labouring and birthing. With that in mind, it has everything you need. It has a blow-up floor (about 7cm thick) which makes is extremely comfortable to kneel and get into any position that might be comfortable at the time. There are handles on the side to grip onto. It is made from eco-friendly materials.
Birth Pools are available for hire from 37 weeks pregnant. You will require a ‘Birth Pool Hire Agreement Form’ signed by your MGP midwife to hire a pool. Bring this document into the Birth and Beyond office for payment. Once you have paid, you can pick up your pool from MGP.
In our library, we have books and DVDs on water and home births that you can borrow when you are a member.

Bond: $90 (refundable on return of clean and working pool)
All hire fees are used to buy new birth pools as needed.
